In 2017 GeniusNews put together a videos of some great horror film samples in hiphop so we thought we'd do the same... Original I know... In no particular order here are 5 of alibis picks for interesting and "slept on" horror samples in hiphop!

Here we go...
Three6Mafia - “Favourite Scary Movie”
A deep cut from the often overlooked, yet timeless compilation album, Body Parts, DJ Paul, Juicy J, Lord Infamous, & Koopsta Knicca collectively murdered the chilling track as if the beat was Drew Barrymore in the famous opener from Scream (which was sampled). “Favourite Scary Movie” contains the group’s second most shocking and violent lyrical imagery on a track.
Captain Murphy - "The Killing Joke"
We put the whole album here because the whole project is full of horror inspired elements but if we had to choose one it would be "the killing joke" named after the batman film by the same name (you might not consider batman a horror) but it defiantly scared me as a child! The song contains a variety of samples From various films in the batman archives.
One Capone - "Surf or Die" (album cover)
Onoe Capone is known for often used samples from horror or film in general but in this case we are talking more about the visual sample he used for the cover. Its a Catdelic take on an iconic scene from the the film "Nosferatu (1922)" funny how we managed to get a silent film on this list...
King Geedorah (Better know as MFDOOM) Often uses spooky samples in his music but this one comes from Robert Cobert Orchestra, “Dark Shadows Theme” Although Dark Shadows was actually a soap opera that ran on ABC from 1966 to 1971, it’s more than earned its place in the Horror canon due to its supernatural elements and infamous on-air gaffes. Although it wasn’t the first work in the genre to feature as many memorable mistakes as it did, “Dark Shadows” set a new standard for just how unintentionally hilarious a work of horror can be. The series has such a cult status among its devotees that director Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have spent the past four years working to adapt the show to the big screen, with Depp in the lead role as the vampire Barnabas Collins.
Busta Rhymes - "Gimmy Some More"
If you've already seen the video on genius' site you know they used this one too but its so legendary we had to chuck it in as our final pick, the sample is from the legendary 1960s film psycho and the flip is perfect.
