House of Pharaohs, the UK rap group making art on their own terms

On the rise rap collective House of Pharaohs are the team players proving that there’s strength in numbers!

The London group coined a distinctive sound with debut mixtape Real Faces in 2017. Their track RWM was played on Frank Ocean’s Blonded Radio, and collaborated with Nike to create the visuals of their single London’s Finest. House of Pharaohs gained a lot of their support through their high energy live performances across London. In 2017 the crew were invited to join Charlie Sloth on The Plug Tour, performing shows in cities across the UK as well as Amsterdam and Italy.

House of Pharaohs’ is an mashes of friendship, art and business bringing together all three professions. For people who are looking to get with the music, here’s six vocalists of the group in there own words;

“I just got heart, no weapon/ I just count cash and blessings/ I just uplift my bredins.”

“We’ve all got our own ways, we’ve all got our own energy and we’ve all got our own kind of sound that defines us [and] solo wise, we’ve all got our own ting going. You have to be there and listen to all the mandem to know wagwarn.”

“I’ve got a big family so being around them influenced me to do music,” he explains, “because everyone does music and everyone is a dancer, everyone is creative.”

“Our sound stays fresh, we don’t look elsewhere for ideas on what songs to make.”

“A lot of people do it for the money, fame and clout and we’re not for that.”

“With each track, there’s always a different approach,” he says of HOP’s sound. “We never really have a one style. There’s no name to it, it just is what is it.”
